EXPRESSIVE ARTS (Autumn Term) - Digital Music Production (Garageband)

The Digital Music Production Expressive Arts group have been learning how to use Garageband...

GarageBand is a fully equipped music creation studio — with a complete sound library that includes a vast array of music instruments. GarageBand for iOS makes it incredibly simple to play, record and share your music.

With our Space theme in mind, our pupils have been composing 'A Space Odyssey 2001' title soundtrack in their own style using the skills required to utilise Garageband's powerful interface. We have listened to the original piece of music and a 'terrible' version of this piece of music, with the aim of composing our own improved interpretations!

Pupils have learned many of the recording features along with some basic music theory to help them build their masterpiece! We invite you to listen to the original track first, then listen to the 'terrible' example, then listen to our versions at the bottom of this page! Enjoy!

EXPRESSIVE ARTS (Spring Term) - Digital Music Production (Garageband)

During the Spring Term another group of pupils have been developing their understanding and use of GarageBand. they pupils were challenged to write an 'Epic Wales' piece of music that included a prominent modern rhythmic style of beat (although some pupils have adapted different genres of musical beat.)

The pupil's interpretations were centred around their learning of all things associated with Wales! Some pupils, rapped, sang or just created musical compositions by utilised the array of instruments and the beats and bars interface within GarageBand. Pupils have really developed their audio/digital skills and now understand the power of GarageBand as a music composition tool!
