Emergency Childcare for Key Worker Application form - BCBC

Dear parents and carers

Key Worker Emergency Childcare Application - Important Message

Application form can be accessed here:

It remains the local authority's strong advice that parents should keep their children at home unless absolutely necessary.

We know that you are all doing critical work to help us all during these extraordinary times. We are determined to assist you as much as we can to continue to provide your crucial service.

Due to the amazing generosity of our staff volunteering their time, we are able to offer a limited amount of childcare:

  • over this coming weekend (ie on Saturday 28 March and Sunday 29 March);
  • during the school week starting Monday 30 March; and
  • and over the Easter break (ie between Saturday 4 April to Sunday 19 April inclusive).

It is essential that any parent who is eligible for emergency childcare in Bridgend applies for this provision, even if you have previously made an application.

Please note that parents currently in receipt of emergency childcare must reapply for places for the period Saturday 28 March through to Sunday 19 April inclusive.

In Bridgend, we have defined key workers as those who work for:

  • National Health Service;
  • Police;
  • Fire and Rescue Service;
  • Ambulance Service;
  • HM Prison Service;
  • Social care; and
  • Childcare.

If at least one parent is a key worker (as defined by Bridgend County Borough Council), you are eligible for emergency childcare.

Deadlines for emergency childcare applications:

12.00pm today for this weekend (Saturday 28 March to Sunday 29 March)

5.00pm today for next week (Monday 30 March to Sunday 4 April)

 Please note, at this time, we are unable to expand this offer to other key workers.

We are grateful to you for your patience and continuing support during these challenging times.
